SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 02/08/10 -- Thomas Weisel Partners (NASDAQ: TWPG), a global growth-focused investment bank, will host its Annual Technology & Telecom Conference, February 8-10, 2010 at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco. Institutional investors and company management will gather for this three-day conference, which will focus on opportunities and challenges in the technology and telecom sectors for 2010 and beyond. Over 230 companies representing applied technologies, communications equipment, computer systems and storage, electronic supply chain, information and financial technology services, semiconductors, software and telecom services, will be showcased at the conference.
"We are very encouraged by the strength the Technology and Telecom sectors have demonstrated and by the exciting growth prospects in this area. Given the lag in tech enterprise spending relative to consumer spending, we anticipate a rebound in corporate spending around the middle of this year, implying that a sustained recover is under way. The interest in this space is evident by the record attendance at this year's event," said Keith Gay, Head of TWP's Research Group.
The conference will be led by Thomas Weisel Partners 12 senior research analysts: Blair Abernethy, CFA, software; Jim Breen, telecom services; Kevin Cassidy, semiconductors; David Grossman, information and financial technology services; Hasan Imam, communications equipment; Tim Klasell, software; Jeff Osborne, alternative energy; Ajit Pai, applied technologies; Doug Reid, CFA, computer systems and storage; Tom Roderick, software; Matthew Sheerin, electronic supply chain; Tore Svanberg, semiconductors. Analysts will offer insight into the major trends impacting their respective sectors.
